#For adrenaline enthusiasts, we have prepared a tip for an interesting trip. If you ever spend some time in the United Arab Emirates, be sure to visit the longest zipline in the world. But what is the zipline anyway and who is it intended for?

What is a zipline?

In the case of a zipline, it is a „cableway“ on which you do not sit, but hang. You put on a strap, attach it with a pulley to a steel rope that is stretched between the starting and ending points, and lower yourself at a certain slope. The speed of the zipline depends on the slope because it is not mechanics that work here, but gravity itself. That is also why you can find it at higher altitudes, from which you descend.

The first records of ziplines date back to the 1980s. The Himalayas climbers used ziplines for their expeditions. This form of transport was later also used by researchers in forests. Today, it has become an attraction that enjoys a lot of visitors all over the world. They have more than 200 ziplines in the US alone, and new ones are constantly on the plan.

The biggest one is almost three kilometers

There are not many ziplines that are more than a kilometer long. Usually, you will find ones that measure 600 – 700 meters. They are both slower and cheaper, but you will enjoy the views more. The longest in the world is in the United Arab Emirates. It is named Jais Flight. It has a length of more than 2,800 meters, and it is attached to the steel rope by up to two pulleys.

In addition to being the longest, it is also the fastest. Here you can reach a speed of up to 160 kilometers per hour, which is even faster than driving on the highway. The journey begins at an altitude of 1,680 meters above sea level, and to start, you must register in advance. The price for one ride is almost 100 euros.
